Associate
Gabrielle Kraushaar is a tax attorney who has strong experience in tax consulting and controversy. She previously worked in the Multistate Tax group at Deloitte Tax LLP where she served as a senior consultant. Gabrielle attended conferences at both the Bureau of Conciliation and Mediation Services and the New York City Tax Appeals Tribunal. She prepared documentation to be reviewed by judges, mediators and auditors. Gabrielle assisted with several personal income tax, corporate income tax and sales tax audits where she successfully abated penalties, helped clients reduce assessments and obtain refunds.
In addition to her controversy experience, Gabrielle has experience analyzing taxability of goods and services across the United States as well as handling due diligence, research and analysis for mergers and acquisitions transactions. She also has experience with consulting matters for trusts, where she composed memorandums and reviewed trust agreements to analyze tax implications of residency of trusts.
Gabrielle also worked as a Capital Markets associate in a corporate group where she represented underwriters and issuers in the power and utility sector in various public and private offerings and SEC filings.
Gabrielle received her Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University, where was on the Academic Athletic Dean’s List, Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and graduated cum laude as a Division 1 rower. She received her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was a Heyman Corporate Scholar in the Heyman Corporate Scholar Program, an Articles Editor for the International, Comparative, Policy & Ethics Law Review and received the Cardozo Service and Achievement Award. She also served as a Research Assistant to Professor Zelisky, including in connection with his Amicus Curiae Brief in the U.S. Supreme Court tax case New Hampshire v. Massachusetts, No. 22O154 (U.S. Dec. 10, 2020).
Her experience in both tax as well as corporate law offers a unique perspective and deep understanding of the law in several jurisdictions and practice areas.
